As the "La Crosse Queen" paddles upstream on the main channel of the river your guide will explain facts and trivia of the historical and present day river, along with local points of interest. Watch for eagles and other wildlife as we cruise past steep bluffs adjacent to the "Great River Road" (Hwy. 14/61)-designated by AAA as one of the most scenic areas in the Midwest! As we near the Lock & Dam No.7 at Dresbach, MN we will explain the locking process to you. Cocktails, pop and munchies available. Daily river boat excursions early May through late October. Captain's Sunday Champagne BrunchPerk up a lazy Sunday morning and pamper yourself with a brunch fit for a "Queen" while you enjoy the beautiful sights along "Ol' Man River". On this special two-hour river boat cruise, you will experience "locking through" Lock and Dam #7 on the Mississippi River (river conditions permitting). Includes narrated tour. Saturday Dinner CruisePut your troubles aside and bring your sweetheart, friends or family aboard to observe the moon work its evening magic over the Mississippi River. The musicians will provide you with a fine dining atmosphere while you enjoy a tasty, chef-carved prime rib and chicken dinner. Later, they will serenade you while you relax on the upper deck and watch the world go by. Three Hour Paddlewheel CruiseStep back in time to when the most popular means of travel from town to town along the Mississippi River was by paddlewheeled river boat. Experience three hours on one of the most scenic stretches of the upper Mississippi River at a most leisurely pace. Sit back and enjoy the scenic treasures of the Mississippi River, including one of the oldest swing bridges still in operation today, the wildlife, the Lock and Dam system, and other scenic and historic sights along the Upper Mississippi River. Observe up close Mississippi River barge and pleasure boat traffic. For a very special experience we will "lock thru" Lock and Dam #7, river conditions permitting. A tasty double entree meal is served buffet-style for your enjoyment during the cruise. Don't forget your camera! Advanced Reservations are necessary. Set an hour or two aside and enjoy the camaraderie of friends or business associates while you cruise by Mississippi river boat past the busy world. Questions Frequently AskedYes, the La Crosse Queen is a true Mississippi River paddlewheeler! Advance reservations are needed on all MEAL cruises for guaranteed passage; sightseeing cruises are available on a first-come basis. The lower deck is climate controlled; the upper deck has a canopied cover and is open at the sides for enjoyment of the scenic view and feel of the breeze! The Queen is wheelchair accessible and equipped with restrooms, however we advise bus groups to make a restroom stop prior to boarding as our facilities are limited.
